Corporate Poem Commissions
Corporate poem commissions are custom poems we write before an event for its guests of honor. Over several weeks we research each recipient and the occasion, then write a poem for that person (or business) alone.
Southern Innkeepers Association at Boar’s Head Resort
In 2026, Boar’s Head Resort hired us to write 40 custom poems for guests of the Southern Innkeepers Association’s annual conference, one poem for each venue. The poem in the photo is one of them, written for the Jefferson Hotel. It names her Tiffany cobalt and shining gold, the burnished mahogany, and the sweep of the staircase.
Who they are for
We write these poems for the people at the center of an event: board members and C-suite executives, conference guests and VIP guests as welcome gifts, and keynote speakers and sponsors as a thank-you.
What arrives
We type each poem on archival paper and frame it, ready to give. Then we pack the poems and ship them using the appropriate delivery service. We can also hand-deliver them to the venue or to each recipient.
Beyond the gift basket
Before we write, we learn something true about each guest, and the poem is built around what makes that person or place irreplaceable. Guests take the poems home and keep them.
At the event, the poems get passed around. Guests read each other’s poems, and the sharing starts conversations between people who arrived as strangers.
Timeline
