Live, custom poetry is a wonderful addition to many kinds of events, including happy hours, weddings, parties, wine tastings, and street festivals.
How It Works
We will collaborate with you to craft the perfect typewriter poetry experience for your event. A typical poetry-on-demand experience would go as follows:
- Your guests approach the poet and receive prompts as agreed upon with you ahead of time, prompts such as, “Tell me your fondest memory of the bride and groom”, or, “Tell me three words that describe yourself”.
- We spend a few moments typing the poem from the heart, as your guest listens to the sound of the typewriter and watches the process unfold.
- We read the finished poem to your guest, revel together in the experience, and then place the poem in a protective envelope and hand it to your guest as a unique souvenir of your event.
Our Set-up
Our Fee Structure
Our event fee structure is as follows:
- we charge an hourly fee per poet;
- we have two- to three-hour minimum, with the option to extend the engagement in 30 minute increments beyond agreed duration at the same rate (if the party is still raging and poetry neeeeeds to continue to flow); and
- we may request an additional travel stipend, depending on event distance from Charlottesville, Virginia.
